With grey clouds over Assen, the track temperatures were much cooler. Jonathan Rea selected a harder tyre than he used in the other races this weekend, and there was a mild threat of rain.

The ten lap Superpole race would be missing Jonas Folger and Lucas Mahias, Mahias breaking a scaphoid and Folger suffering a concussion in yesterday's race. Rain fell overnight, but the track dried out over the morning.

The opening eighteen lap World Supersport race would be missing Hannes Soomer as he was ruled untit after getting a concussion in the Superpole session.
As the riders lined up for the 21 lap race, Jonathan Rea was the only rider with the super-soft SCX tyre on the back of his bike, with Toprak Razgatlioglu and Scott Redding opting to use the standard SC0 Pirelli. Rea also lined up with the development front tyre. The track was 37ºC, a little warmer than the tyres like.
World Superbike Superpole qualifying took place under a 21ºC sunny sky and a track temperature of 31ºC. Scott Redding was quickest in this morning's FP3, but the biggest news is the absence of a BMW team, with Eugene Laverty's team undergoing "internal restructuring" causing their absence.
