2022 Estoril World Superbike FP1 Result: Gerloff Leads Razgatlioglu

Garrett Gerloff opened the weekend in a sunny Estoril holding off Toprak Razgatlioglu, demonstrating the strengths of the Yamaha at this track, with Alvaro Bautista, half a second off Gerloff's pace, beating Andrea Locatelli to third place.

Michael van der Mark has been declared unfit for the weekend after a crash five minutes into the morning's session that brought out the red flags.

As a fellow American, a big cheer for Garrett for toping the session. I get to watch all since I'm nursing my broken leg and knee. Go Garrett!!

Heal up well layback! Enjoy the media binge.

v Things aren't looking so good...still..for BMW. The bike is SO good in Superstock trim, at a bit of a loss here about the lacking. Anyone have the lowdown to fill me in on? Looks like Honda made a 2022 advancement. Curious about that too.

We have a nice battle at the front. Sincere hopes here too that it is joined by Gerloff. Beaubier in Moto2 as well. Welcome back Americans!

Nice to see Gerloff on top. Will help his confidence.

Michael van der Mark made it 5 minutes in FP1 before crashing and injuring his hip. Crazy.
