Garrett Gerloff opened the weekend in a sunny Estoril holding off Toprak Razgatlioglu, demonstrating the strengths of the Yamaha at this track, with Alvaro Bautista, half a second off Gerloff's pace, beating Andrea Locatelli to third place.
Michael van der Mark has been declared unfit for the weekend after a crash five minutes into the morning's session that brought out the red flags.

v Things aren't looking so good...still..for BMW. The bike is SO good in Superstock trim, at a bit of a loss here about the lacking. Anyone have the lowdown to fill me in on? Looks like Honda made a 2022 advancement. Curious about that too.
