Full report and results below:
Luis Salom has taken a decisive victory in a fantastically entertaining Moto3 Grand Prix at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. In a race that saw the leading group made up of twelve riders in the early stages, the tone was set from the off with a series of ferocious passing maneuvers and breathtaking slip streaming. At the halfway point of the race the front group split in half and Salom was able to end up ahead of the leading group of six riders. The Spaniard came out on top of a nail biting last corner exchange with his main championship rival Alex Rins who had to settle for second position.
After an awful start Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira managed to snare the final podium place aboard his Mahindra, it was the first ever podium for the Indian manufacturer, it was also the first time this year that a rider not aboard a KTM has stood on the rostrum. Alex Marquez, Maverick Vinales and a spirited Jack Miller completed the top six. Miller was placed as high as fourth during the last lap, but had no chance on the drag to the line and lost out to the KTM power of Marquez and Vinales.
Alexis Masbou and Jonas Folger finished in seventh and eighth places respectively and were apart of the lead group in the initial running but were unable to handle the escalation of pace in the closing stages. Romano Fenati and Philipp Oettl rounded out the top ten placings. It was a race high in incident both on and off the track with no fewer than eight riders crashing out, thankfully no one was seriously injured.

Carrasco's first point!
Congratulations to her. It is a very tough class as Herrera also found out last time around in Aragon. Maybe I'm terribly wrong here, but is this the first point a woman ever scores in moto3/125cc? Could it even be the first point across all classes?
Not the first
From my memory there is at least one other woman that has pointed in GP racing - Katja Poensgen (14th at Mugello 2001, I believe, in a 250cc Aprilia).

Quoting:
"I will remember the good times, I know it is a hard business, but I leave happy that I qualified at all the races I rode in, and scored two championship points."
Oliveira\Mahindra
I have waited a long time to see that!
The best in the 'modern' era
The best in the 'modern' era (for argument's sake, the last 30 years) I know of is Tomoko Igata's 7th place in the 125cc race in Brno in 1995.
EDIT: Sorry, this is in reply to the Carrasco points comment.
Great Race
By far the best race of the weekend!
