An updated version of the Moto3 entry list was issued today, including 34 riders. Brazilian rider Eric Granado has lost his place, with Maria Herrera taking the seat at the Laglisse team. Remy Gardner, son of former 500cc champion Wayne Gardner, joins the grid, ensuring an Australian successor for Jack Miller in the Moto3 championship.

I thought Efren Vazquez was now to old to ride in Moto3 ?
Not yet
One would think so, given how long he lingered in the class... But the age limit is 28 and he currently is 28 years old, so this will definitely be his last season in Moto3. I checked Wikipedia and his birthday is in September, so technically he should no longer be racing in the rounds after that, but I guess as a permanent starter he will be able to finish the season, not sure on the rule details there.
Personally I think some riders should be pushed to move up earlier than that, especially when they've been in the class for so long. The years when people - on purpose - spent their entire careers in the smaller capacity classes are long gone and Moto3 is now pretty much regarded as a Rookie class and the breeding ground for future stars and someone like Vazquez who could very well move up a class are essentially blocking the path for new talent to come through.
As I understand he is indirectly the reason Granado no longer has a ride - Honda forced teams to take on Vazquez as he won races for them last year (though I think there is a reason he didn't have a ride at the end of last year despite his wins), the Honda he now occupies was the last one of the Hondas that were planned for the Moto3 class, forcing Maria Herrera out of the expected deal with the Estrella Galicia Team as there are no more Hondas available. To still have Herrera in Moto3 as planned Repsol jumps in and secures her a ride with the Calvo Team, still under the Repsol wings though. The rider falling over the edge was Eric Granado who now rides in the new CEV Euro Moto2 class.
Sorry, long rambling answer to a short question!

Thank you very much for the long answer to a short question :)
I think your analysis is spot on, No. 7 should have moved on and upwards before now, 28 year olds are all the racers they are going to be, he needs to back up his ability with some self believe to go onto new challenges.
I can only assume EV really fancy's his chances of winning the Moto 3 title this year so thats why he's hung around in the smaller class.
Honda has a bucketful of talent on Moto 3 bikes in 2015, most capable of winning, they don't actually need Vazquez to carry their hopes this year.
