Niccolo Antonelli took his first-ever Moto3 win Sunday at the Brno circuit after a red-flag restart turned the contest into a 12-lap sprint.
Enea Bastianini grabbed second in the race that saw four crashes and a tight finish among the top five. Brad Binder took the final podium spot.
Efren Vazquez finished in fourth, a half second behind the winner with Jorge Navarro (5th) two-hundrendths behind. Romano Fenati ended in sixth, leading championship point leader Danny Kent (7th) across the line. Miguel Oliveira (8th), Jacob Kornfeil (9th) and John McPhee finished in a bunch to round out the top 10.
The first major crash involved Tatsuki Suzuki, Niklas Ajo, Phillip Oettl and Jules Danilo. But it was the second major crash that changed the course of the race.
Andrea Locatelli, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Gabriel Rodrigo and Hiroki Ono crashed at Turn three with 12 laps to go forcing the race to be red-flagged. Before the re-start, several riders switched to the soft rear tire. Eleven riders broke away as a bunch with the lead and positions swapping frantically.
Antonelli grabbed the front with two laps to go.

Any news on Gabriel?
That looked like a nasty fall. I feared for the worst but I hope that he is fine. Please find out and let us know. Great race by the way. I was routing for Fenati but he seams like he run out of steam or tires at the end. Gongrats to Nicolo for his first win. I like the alien design helmet. I guess that he sees him self as one of the incredible 4 from MotoGP :)

There's a tweet by david linking to GR's facebook page where he says he's ok but staying a night for observation after being unconscious for 2 minutes after the crash. He's looking forward to being at Silverstone. Good news day.
