Dani Pedrosa ruled the second session of free practice for the MotoGP class at Silverstone. The Repsol Honda waited until the last quarter of FP2 to put in the fastest lap of the weekend so far, and the first man to get under 2'05 at the Silverstone circuit. Pedrosa finished ahead of LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet, the Frenchman determined to make an impression in the UK, and Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner was 4th quickest, ending the session just ahead of Andrea Dovizioso, the Repsol Honda rider the last of the riders to finish within a second of Pedrosa.
The session was marred by a number of crashes, the tarmac changes and overnight rain catching several riders out, though none were seriously injured. Andrea Dovizioso, Ben Spies, Marco Simoncelli and Hector Barbera all went down during FP2, with Barbera coming off worst, the engine of the Spaniard's Pagina Amarillas Ducati GP10 continuing to run for a long time as it sat on its side, the cutoff switch failing to kill the engine. Running with no oil flow is likely to have been terminal for Barbera's Ducati, cutting his engine allocation by one.

Might give a better idea of who will do well in the race
It would also be interesting to see each rider's average hot lap time.
Consistent
Lorenzo seems to be the most consistent, with some great 2.05 in a row in his last run.
Hondas look pretty fast since Mugello,if i was Stoner i don't wait too long to make my decision ;)
Analysis of each lap...........

suzuki need the new Schwantz
man, last place , and beaten by Kallio!
GSVR?
I've never fathomed why Suzuki persist with the V4 when they traditionally do across the frame fours..?
Traditionally they have done
Traditionally they have done both square fours and V fours in GP racing (RG500 and RGV500) while inline fours have been for their streetbikes.
why is Denning stil there?
After years with various quality riders and no results why is the team manager still there? Start anew, from the top.

And why was Denning at...
the pre-race press conference?? That's the first I can recall a non-rider attending one of these sessions, and he spent most of his time making excuses for Suzuki and slagging off his riders (i.e., the bike's great now, but we haven't seen this reflected in the results of our riders). 20 bucks says this is there last season in MotoGP.
division..
I agree...Denning seems full of contradictions, maybe Suzuki have had enough..I hope not.
They are important..if they fold and its just Yamaha and Honda on the MSMA, then everyone loses..
if the new rules come out , with enough clarity quickly, for 2011..and Suzuki see a future..?
could be the start of something.
