Romano Fenati took a clean sweep on the second day at Qatar, topping the timesheets for all three of the test sessions for the Moto3 class. But the competition hotted up behind the Italian in the second and third sessions on Saturday, Jorge Martin and Aron Canet both closing to within a few hundredths of Fenati.
Gabriel Rodrigo was the first KTM rider, the Argentinian rider a quarter of a second off the time of Fenati. Livio Loi had a strong evening, putting the Leopard Honda into fifth, and finishing ahead of Nicolo Bulega on the Sky VR46 KTM.
Testing is due to continue on Sunday, but once again, the forecast is not good. Spots of rain had started as the final Moto3 session ended, and heavy rain is expected through the night and during the day. The teams will hope for a dry track at the end of the afternoon, to allow them to use their final opportunity at preparing for the start of the 2017 season.

Fast lady
Impressive to see Maria Herrera's progress, after her difficult start and unlucky ending of the season last year! So far in testing I have only seen her in the tail group, but she seems to have clicked with the new KTM. She has shown signs of real speed a few times, I hope she can tune in to that speed on a consistent basis. She seems to have the potential to be well up in the top-10, maybe even top-6 on a good day. Good luck to her! It's quite special that we have a sport at top level in which women compete directly against men on completely equal terms. I can't think of any other sport like this, except car racing. Anybody..?
Love the lady racers!! Maria
Love the lady racers!! Maria Herrera, Nichole Mees, Ama flattrack, a recent US roadracer's name escapes my memory..
There are those that argue motor racing and hunting, as the only civilized sports. Women go head to head with men, in pro tactical shooting sports, as well!

Elena Myers
I'm guessing you mean the seriously fast Elena Myers, who has unfortunately stopped racing because of a really sad reason (you can look it up if you want to know). Hopefully we'll see her back some day soon. And then there's Melissa Paris, who did a few wildcards in World Supersport, if I'm correct.
