Jerez Moto2 & Moto3 Test, Thursday Times: Bagnaia, Canet Fastest

The Jerez circuit has a busy week or so ahead of it. On Thursday and Friday, the Moto2 and Moto3 teams are testing there, then from Monday to Friday, there is a combined MotoGP and WorldSBK test at the Spanish circuit.

On Thursday, it was the turn of the Moto2 and Moto3 teams. Pecco Bagnaia ended the day as fastest, comfortably quicker than Alex Marquez and Miguel Oliveira. Luca Marini ended as fourth, ahead of Brad Binder on the second KTM. The test also saw the debut of Moto3 world champion Joan Mir on a Moto2 bike. The Marc VDS rider ended the day in fourteenth, just under a second and a half off the pace of Bagnaia. Bo Bendsneyder and Romano Fenati also got their first test on a Moto2 machine, the pair finishing twenty third and twenty fourth, two seconds off the pace.

MotoGP returnees Sam Lowes and Hector Barbera also got back to riding a Moto2 bike. Lowes was tenth fastest, while Barbera finished fifteenth.

A small group of Moto3 bikes are also on track. Aron Canet was the fastest of the smaller bikes. He was also faster than Eskil Suter, who was out at the circuit on his 500cc V4 two stroke.
