Phillip Island WorldSSP Test Day 1 Results: Locatelli Leads A Brace Of MV Agustas

The WorldSSP faces its final preparation for the 2020 season, with testing getting underway at Phillip Island ahead of this weekend's season opener. Despite brisk winds, the World Supersport class got the best of the weather on Monday, with rookie and Moto2 refugee Andrea Locatelli taking a clear lead at the top of the timesheets.

Two MV Agusta's followed Locatelli's Yamaha, three tenths back. Randy Krummenacher took second spot, ahead of teammate Raffaele De Rosa, while Isaac Viñales, cousin to MotoGP's Maverick and also on a Yamaha, ended the test in fourth. Lucas Mahias was the first Kawasaki on the timesheets, finishing fifth overall, half a second behind Locatelli.
