Provisional 2023 WorldSBK Calendar Released: 11 Rounds Confirmed, 1 Still To Be Announced

The FIM have released the provisional calendar for the 2023 WorldSBK season. A total of twelve rounds are planned, with one round still to be confirmed.

The season kicks off in its traditional location of Phillip Island on February 26th, with a test in the week before the opening round. It then heads to Mandalika, before returning to Europe and the TT Circuit in Assen. Barcelona follows, then Misano, Donington, Most, Magny-Cours, Aragon, and Portimão, before the season ends in Argentina at the San Juan Villicum circuit.

The WorldSSP300 class is set to race at all of the European rounds bar Donington Park.

Eugene Laverty, fresh from announcing his new role in the Bonovo BMW team, was ruled unfit for this afternoon's twenty two lap race while Alex Lowes pulled out due to a bout of gastroenteritis. The weekend attendance was 37,081 as the temperature climbed to 29ºC.

World Supersport race two signals the end of the first half of the season and the race will not have championship leader Dominique Aegerter competing as he was suspended for "unsporting behaviour", ruled as faking an injury to try to get yesterday's race stopped after the multi-rider turn one crash on the opening lap. Nineteen laps under a clear 27ºC sky gave us perfect conditions for a race.

2022 Most World Superbike Superpole Race Result: Dangling Legs And Hard Tyres

Pirelli didn't bring the SCQ tyre as the resurfacing of the track would destroy them and they restricted the SCX tyre to just qualifying and the Superpole race. The Superpole race would be ten laps on this tyre at 25ºC, without the rain that made yesterday unpredictable.
