The FIM has today released the final, official version of the 2014 MotoGP calendar. As expected, the Brazil round has been dropped, after it became clear that construction work at the Autodromo Nelson Piquet in Brasilia would not be completed in time for the September round. To ease the congestion in that part of the season, the date of the Aragon round has now been pushed back a week, and will take place on 28th September, the date originally scheduled for Brazil.
The dropping of the Brazil round had been expected almost from the moment it was placed on the schedule. There were serious doubts that the circuit would be able to make the necessary changes in time for September 2014, and teams were informed of the doubts which Dorna and IRTA had. The inclusion of Brazil was a statement of intent, with both Dorna and the manufacturers keen to return to South America, as both Brazil and Argentina are key markets. Actually racing in Brazil will depend one of the circuits still in the country being able to make the necessary modifications to make it safe enough for Grand Prix motorcycles.
Below is the official, finalized version of the 2014 MotoGP calendar:

I guess...
they couldn't have thrown Leguna Seca in there real quick as a replacement?
Why?
They are not willing to pay the fees required and cannot accommodate 2/3rds of the series! I dont understand all the clamouring to get the race back?
uhhhhh
more of a suggestion than clamoring to get it back. I could care less, just thought it would make sense. And despite all the nay sayers there actually are a lot of people who are up in arms it hasn't been included. Personally I'm a huge moto2 fan so it doesn't bother me too much, but one cannot deny that seeing a train full of GP bikes flick back and forth down the corkscrew is entertaining as ****
Leguna Seca
Leguna Seca doesn't deserve a Gran Prix race. Laguna Seca thinks they're "special." Only in the land of fruits and nuts would you think the AMA version of NASCAR is better than watching true Gran Prix machinery ridden by the best riders in the world. Without Moto 2 and Moto 3 it's not a Gran Prix race.
Miller
why is there no talk about adding Miller Motorsports Park to the MotoGP schedule? WSBK used to go there.
Have you been to Miller?
I'm sorry, Miller is a horrible track to watch racing at. I went to see WSBK there and it was very disapointing. Even Austin is better than Miller with it's awful parking and food.
No, I havent, I was planning
No, I havent, I was planning on a road trip there for WSBK but it was dropped from the calendar. It is the closest venue to wehre I live, and would have a great trip through the rockies.
I wanted to see a brazil return
Oh well I guess will have to wait til next year.. I don't even know what homoligation means anyways. And as far as laguna seca goes the track is not that interesting hardly any passing corners n the corkscrew is not all that great... But if it was to stay on I wouldn't care... N c'mon miller motorsports why go their when there are better race tracks in the world besides laguna for wsbk had very few people wich was sad... I live in Texas Atleast we got a world class facility.
