Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 69: Three Talking Points From Qatar

The Paddock Pass Podcast is back with another episode, and in a slightly different format. In this edition, Neil Morrison and David Emmett walk through the biggest talking points that arose from the MotoGP season opener at Qatar.

First up, they discuss whether Marc Marquez vs Andrea Dovizioso will be the defining battle of the 2018 season. Next, they consider whether the Yamaha is as bad as it was in testing, or as good as it was in the Qatar race, and which way the series will fall. After that, Neil and David turn their attention to the coming madness of Silly Season, with so many riders possibly going to swap bikes. They wrap up the show by discussing their winners and losers from Qatar, and from the preseason testing leading up to Qatar.

The Lorenzo piece is interesting. Ironically the Ducati may yet still be a career killer financially for Jorge.

For all of his greatness (and he is amazing) he’s also no stranger to being bested by a teammate over the course of a championship. It seems like if Petrucci stays ahead of him this season combined with Dovi’s undeniable renaissance, Lorenzo’s manager will earn his money keeping Jorge’s checks consistent in years to come.
