Paddock Pass Podcast Episode 232: Silverstone Preview, Plus Thoughts On Viñales At Aprilia, And The Future Of Petronas SRT

With MotoGP ready to return to Silverstone for the first time in two years, Steve English and David Emmett look ahead to the British Grand Prix on this episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast. But we start the podcast off with a look at Maverick Viñales and Aprilia. We look ahead to what the plan might be for Viñales, and what to expect going forward. We discuss what happens so the SRT team now that Petronas is gone, and who might end up on the bikes there.

Then we take a look at what to expect from Silverstone. On paper, it's a Yamaha and Suzuki track, so will we see a Quartararo vs Mir battle? We discuss the prospects of the Ducatis too, and who their number 1 rider is at the moment. And we discuss what Marc Marquez and the Hondas might do in Silverstone.

Interesting shite surprise that Aqua is "shutting down" and coming apart. Boom to bust, whatever happened within Petronas to quit and pull their money is unknown. It was announced today that the team was ending and reforming for next year, no Sepang track involvement either. The only specific bit was a lost wish to have a Malaysian rider doing well in MotoGP.

Snarky brain enters..."Valentino Rossi has facilitated cutting apart the Aqua Team, useful parts taken for the Saudi team and the rest left as a reminder to their opposition."

Wilco Zeelenburg is linked with a move to Suzuki to fill Davide's old post.

P.S. Just announced, Pedro Acosta to MotoGP in 2024, new three-year KTM deal with two seasons in Moto2 starting in 2022.

Zeelenberg going to Suzuki would definitely be a big bonus for them. I think they've really missed Brivio.
