Ducati To Launch 2012 MotoGP Campaign Online

Ducati's traditional launch of their MotoGP campaign, at the annual Wrooom! event at the Italian ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio was rather like a wedding without a bride this year. The star of the show is normally this year's MotoGP machine, but the Herculean efforts being undertaken by Ducati Corse to build their radically revised GP12 meant that the bike was not ready to be unveiled in public. 

The international press' loss was the internet's gain, and in a move which is becoming ever more common, the Ducati team and their sponsors have realized that they can bypass the media and reach motorcycle racing fans directly, by launching the 2012 bike and livery online. The launch is to be held on Monday, March 19th at 1pm CET, and streamed live on the Facebook page of Italian Telecom giant TIM. Factory Ducati riders Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi will unveil the colors they will be defending in 2012, and will also respond to selected questions submitted by fans. Ducati fans are looking forward to a big event on Facebook: on Monday, 19 March, at 1:00 p.m., it will be possible to follow the unveiling of the Desmosedici GP12, by logging on to TIM’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TimOfficialPage/app_322808414443912.

Live from Borgo Panigale, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden will pull the cover off the Desmosedici GP12, revealing the eye-catching new livery to all Ducati fans. It’s the world premiere of the bike that the Ducati Team will campaign in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship, which kicks off on 8 April at Qatar’s Losail Circuit.

At the same address, it is possible to submit your questions, some of which will be selected for the riders on the same day.

Enthusiasts all over the world can follow the bike presentation and comment live on the social network, while seven lucky fans, selected in two original contests organized on the Ducati and TIM Twitter and Facebook pages, will attend the event in person.

In addition, during the presentation, the two Ducati Team riders will present a pair of autographed fairings from last year’s bike to the winners of the auction, which was organized on eBay by Telecom Italia and Ducati, to benefit the Onlus Association’s Dynamo Camp.

Telecom Italia, with its TIM brand, has been a sponsor of the Ducati Team since 2004.

... if they could only race online, maybe Rossi & Hayden would have a fair shot at the checkers.

The only launch OFF line anyone is bothered about is under the lights in Qatar.
The only point of interest in terms of Ducati's revealing of the new bike is the colour scheme/layout.
Now,if their two facebook pilots have a point to prove, I look forward to it in Jerez and round 1 Qatar. No doubt,so do their sponsors.
I hear Preziosi has given Rossi free reign to go for lap times in Jerez test.
No testing/data feedback restraints.

Instead of focusing the bike in up coming season ducati are busy of their launch and another PR tactics. In my opinion that's why people doesn't have sympathy in rossi/ducati because of their PR, they want to be good in the eyes of viewers or public but in time sheets they're down. Focus on the bike in jerez and try to beat stoner.
