The Repsol Honda Team head to the Red Bull Ring leading the standings

With no time to rest following their perfect 1-2 at the Brno Grand Prix (the fifth double-podium finish for the Repsol Honda Team out of 10 races this season), Championship leader Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa are focused on this Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Monday’s one-day post-race test allowed the Repsol Honda pair to carry out positive work on their RC213V’s setup before heading to the Red Bull Ring, which rejoined the MotoGP calendar only last year and proved to be quite a challenging round.

“The Red Bull Ring is a circuit where we struggled quite a bit last year but hopefully this year it will be different. Brno also used to be a challenging track for us but in the end we got a fantastic result, so we’re going to Austria feeling positive. In the post-race test we were able to look into several aspects of our bike’s setup, also in view of the next race, such as getting better acceleration and reducing the wheelying. Of course we also need good stability on the brakes so we’ll see; as always, it will be a matter of finding a good compromise. The Red Bull Ring round is also important for one of our main sponsors, and we’ll do our best to get a good result for them and to gain important points for the Championship.”

Dani Pedrosa

"The Red Bull Ring is pretty much a new circuit, as we have only raced there once and we don’t have much experience with the track. Last year we struggled to find a good setup but we are looking forward to a better result this time. We had a good test on Monday in Brno after the race so in Austria we’ll begin on Friday with a setup we know is working for us and then will try to build on that, with a clear plan for every session. Again the weather may be something to take into account so we must be ready for all conditions and focus on maintaining this good momentum.”

Movistar Yamaha Team Aim for Glory in Austria


After four days of riding their YZR-M1s in the last week, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi are fired up and feeling confident to take on the competition at the upcoming NeroGiardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich.

Viñales took a solid sixth place in Austria last year, but is set on turning his recent third place in the Czech Republic into a podium streak, in order to remain a main contender in the 2017 title chase.

Being in second place in the championship standings, with a 14-point gap to close to the leader, he is as motivated as ever to start working and bring in the results. He booked steady progress in Monday's Brno test and aims to build on the steps made there, in order to stand on the Red Bull Ring rostrum this weekend.

Teammate Rossi topped the Brno test just two days ago and is feeling confident that he can continue to show great speed in Austria, though the nature of the Czech circuit and the Red Bull Ring are quite diverse.

The Doctor has ridden at the Spielberg track three times before. He secured his first ever podium at the Austrian venue with a third place in the 125cc class in 1996, and followed it up with a second place in the same class in 1997. Last year he just missed out on the podium, taking fourth place. The Italian is determined to climb the rostrum this time round and decrease the current 22-point gap to first place in the championship rankings.

Last year the Spielberg circuit hosted its first MotoGP Grand Prix in nineteen years. The circuit was originally built in 1969 and was rebuilt in 1996 to the track-layout it still has today. The circuit stands out as it has only three left and seven right corners, a 626m longest straight, and features a 18-metre-high landmark "Bull of Spielberg" in the track's centre. The circuit's design puts the emphasis on top speed, acceleration and braking stability, allowing the riders plenty of opportunities to fully open the throttle and put on a show for the Austrian fans.

Championship: 2nd - Points: 140

"After being back on the podium again last weekend, we are more confident and I feel strong going in to the next Grand Prix. On Monday in Brno we also tried many things, like working on the acceleration, that will be very important for the race in Austria. We improved many items during the test and I feel happy and ready for this round. We know that we have to be on the podium at the next races if we want to win this championship, and for that we have to continue this good feeling and go for the victory."

Valentino Rossi

Championship: 4th - Points: 132

"Going back to the track immediately is very important to us, especially after a test like Monday's in Brno, where we tried so many things. During the weekend in the Czech Republic we were fast in every condition and the test helped us to understand a bit more. Now we go to the circuit of Austria, that's not very favourable to us, but I hope we can fight for a good result. I'm fine with the YZR-M1 now, I can ride the bike better, I'm happy and I hope I can fight for the podium at every race. The championship is still open and it will be important to take as many points as possible."

"After the test in Brno, we headed straight to Austria for the next round. We have put in a lot of hours of work in the Czech Republic and the test has put the whole team in a positive mood; we are ready for action at the Red Bull Ring. Last year the race in Spielberg was a really nice event, so the team is looking forward to this year's edition. Though the track's lay-out lays the emphasis on top speed and acceleration, which are not our main strengths, we've made good progress over the last few days and we look forward to starting work on Friday."

Ducati Team gets ready for Austrian challenge

Just a few days after the Czech Grand Prix, the 2017 MotoGP World Championship continues non-stop with the second of three appointments in the month of August, this time in the heart of Austria, at the Red Bull Ring circuit close to Zeltweg in Styria. This eleventh round of the season will be held on the spectacular Austrian track, the venue for last year’s triumphant 1-2 win by the Ducati Team with Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso in first and second place.

Two days ago Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso took part in the official MotoGP test at Brno, evaluating several new technical solutions including the innovative aerodynamic fairing used at the Czech circuit only by the Spanish rider, which will probably be used by both riders in Austria.

The Austrian GP schedule gets underway on Friday morning with the first free practice session at 9.55 am, while the 28-lap race will start at 14.00 CET on Sunday.

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team #04) – 3rd (133 points)

“If we consider our result from last year, in Austria we are for sure amongst the favourites but this year the situation is different because without the winglets it won’t be easy to find the same speed. Despite the fact that the result in Brno was not what we expected, in general I’m pleased with our performance over the weekend in the Czech Republic, even though in the end unfortunately we lost a lot of points in the championship standings. On Monday in the official test we tried the new fairing and the feeling was good, so I’m confident about this race and I believe we can be competitive right from the start of the weekend.”

Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team #99) – 10th (66 points)

“I haven’t had much time to think of what happened in the race a few days ago at Brno. As I said before, the most important lesson for us is to stay united as a team and continue to work with the same enthusiasm. Monday’s test was positive because we found some new set-up solutions that will help us to go quicker. On paper our bike is perfectly suited to the Spielberg circuit. It will be the first time I’ll be on track with the Desmosedici in Austria and it’ll be very important to find the sensation I had at Brno again and demonstrate that I am competitive right from the first practice session. I feel pretty good with the new fairing and now we also have an opportunity to test its performance at a new circuit.”

After the positive test held on Monday in Brno, Team SUZUKI ECSTAR headed to Austria for the back-to-back race this Sunday.

Riders Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins were feeling positive about their GSX-RR’s after the day of testing, with some setup improvements that might prove useful in Austria. Alex Rins will also benefit from the updated chassis that Iannone has been using since the Barcelona test, providing both riders with the same technical package.

Additional testing was done in Brno two days ago, especially concerning Evolutions parts in the engine that will be introduced in 2018 as per the official rules. The Austrian circuit is one that is much celebrated by Andrea Iannone, who won his first race here in MotoGP last year, and is looking forward to enjoying the very fast straights and corners of the Spielberg ring.

The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is located in the beautiful Bezirk Murtal district of Styria, in Austria. The circuit was originally built in 1969, then known as the Österreichring. In 1996 it was rebuilt with the track-layout it still has today, and in 2011 it was reopened as the Red Bull Ring and again became the centre of Austrian motor sports. The sloping terrain and the natural arena are trademark features of the Red Bull Ring which is home to a 18-metre-high landmark, the “Bull of Spielberg,” in the centre and the Voestalpine wing, considered a spectacular architectural highlight. With a length of 4.318 km, it features ten turns and an altitude variance of 65 metres.

“I want to forget the bad luck of the race in Brno as soon as possible, and the test we did on Monday helped in this. We did constructive work, finding some solutions that I believe can help me here in Austria. The setup improvements give me more confidence on the GSX-RR and it is paying off in terms of lap time. It’s good that we go back-to-back, now in Austria, keeping the positive momentum we have for the test. The circuit in Austria is fascinating in and of itself, but it also has a special emotional value for me, as it’s the place where I won my first race in MotoGP. This is a yet another push for me to have a positive race this year.”

Alex Rins

"After the race in Brno we had one day of testing last Monday. I believe we were able to make important steps forward and I’m very satisfied by the results and the work we’re doing with the team. We have to be patience and work step-by-step, putting all our efforts into it to get where I believe we belong. It’s going to be a long haul but I think we’re on a good path. I’m eager to try my GSX-RR in the Austrian circuit. Last year we raced here for the first time and I have great memories of enjoying it on the Moto2.”


The second MotoGP race after the summer break has the top class teams taking on the historic Austrian Red Bull Ring. Opened in 1969, it has been completely revamped, becoming one of the most modern structures on the championship calendar. Its almost 6 kilometres of asphalt are characterized by long straights separated by demanding braking sections that put rider and bike to a rather severe test, but different than the other rounds on the calendar.

The technical upgrades introduced from the Brno race by the Aprilia Racing Team Gresini on the RS-GP machines piloted by Espargaró and Lowes were appreciated immediately by both riders. In fact, they see the Austrian track as the best possible test bench for them. After the good feedback received during the race weekend, the upgrades were confirmed in the post-race tests in the Czech Republic.


"The Austrian track is a strange one, very different from all the others on the calendar. Last year I had fun here. It is a track where the engine counts for a lot. With the steps forward we have made recently during the Brno weekend I am confident. I am truly curious too because already last year the Aprilia RS-GP had a good pace here and did one of its most competitive races of the season."


"During the Brno tests we did a lot of work in view of this race. The initial part of braking is where I still struggle to get the best out of the RS-GP, but I think that the tests on Monday helped us to take a big step forward. The new technical package Aprilia introduced in the Czech Republic should help us. This is a start-and-stop track where braking and acceleration are crucial."

KTM READY TO RACE first MotoGP Home Grand Prix at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg

PREVIEW 11th Rd. MotoGP 2017 – Red Bull Ring, Spielberg (AUT)

The Austrian MotoGP weekend at Spielberg marks the home Grand Prix for the Red Bull KTM MotoGP Factory Racing Team after their public debut of the KTM RC16 at the track 12 months ago. Fresh from last weekend's race in the Czech Republic where Pol Espargaro finished inside the top ten for the very first time with a ninth position, the team has completed another day of testing there where more data was gathered for KTM's MotoGP project.

The busy schedule of back to back Grands Prix means Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith will be riding their MotoGP KTM RC16 motorcycles for seven out of the ten days that cover last weekend's Czech Republic and this weekend's Austrian races, only serving to keep them in the 'rhythm' of the race. KTM test rider Mika Kallio will be also back on track with his second wild card appearance after the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring before the summer break.

Many fans from the worldwide KTM family will be at the mountain based Spielberg circuit to watch the on-track action from the spectacular KTM Tribune that has over 8,200 seats. KTM is READY TO RACE at home.

Smith: "The great thing about this week is that it started well with a day's testing at Brno on Monday; we made some really big improvements so I'm excited about that as we come here to Spielberg. Looking back on last year's test here with Mika and Tom Luethi it was a good test, so let's hope we can build on that now we're half way into our first full season too. The track layout should allow us to be quick and competitive so there's a fantastic buzz already around the garage and the paddock with the people from the factory and the fans I met here yesterday (Thursday). There's more and more people here wearing orange!"

Espargaro: "I'm so happy and proud to be here this weekend at Spielberg, the home race for KTM. We're coming off our best result so far with a ninth at Brno so all of the mechanics and staff are genuinely pumped up to get this weekend underway. Sure, there's a little bit of pressure, but that's good. We've taken a lot from last weekend where I was able to push hard in the race, catch people and pass them with the speed we had. That was fantastic – a great feeling believe me. Every race we're a little bit better, and every test, especially the Aragon test after Sachsenring, was very positive. We're improving the bike. In Qatar we finished; in Argentina we scored points and then in Brno we had a top ten. This is great progress that I wish to carry on into KTM's home race here in Spielberg as the work for the guys in the factory is relentless. A great feeling for us all."

Kallio: "Before Sachsenring I said that this layout should suit our bike. We know our weak point with the bike and it seems that may be lessened here for us, just like Sachsenring where we were on the pace. Last weekend at Brno Pol was good in both dry and wet conditions so it's proof the bike is improving considerably following the last frame upgrade. Like always, today's first practice is important to get into the groove as when we last came here a year ago the bike was completely different. As at Sachsenring, we need to concentrate on our own things and try to keep it simple throughout the weekend. I'm looking forward to it."

Pull&Bear Aspar Team head from Czech Republic to Austria with the goal of another top-five fight for Álvaro Bautista and to build on a strong showing from Karel Abraham at Brno

The closest MotoGP World Championship in recent memory became a little less so at Brno, where Marc Márquez pulled out nine points on Maverick Viñales, fifteen on Andrea Dovizioso and twelve on Valentino Rossi to consolidate his series lead. However the four arrive in Austria still separated by just 22 points, rather than the twelve that covered them before the summer break. They will battle for superiority again this weekend at a circuit where Ducati returned to winning form in 2016, with the likes of Dani Pedrosa, second at Brno, and Jorge Lorenzo also sure to play a part.

The Pull&Bear Aspar Team riders head into the Austrian round in contrasting moods, with Karel Abraham happy with the job he did in the Czech Republic Grand Prix a couple of days ago and Álvaro Bautista still frustrated by the problems that kept him out of the points. The pair know that the circuit in Spielberg suits the Ducati well, so they are both hopeful that the Italian machinery can power them to a strong finish on Sunday.

Álvaro Bautista:“Austria is a very peculiar circuit, with a lot of emphasis on braking and acceleration. Ducati achieved great results there last season so we need to make the most of the track's suitability to the bike, especially after such a strange weekend at Brno where we had quite a few problems. We go to Austria looking for an improved feeling with the bike and the determination to work hard and get back to the form we have showed elsewhere.”

Karel Abraham: “I have raced at this circuit before, around fifteen years ago in the Czech championship on a 125cc when it was still called the A1 Ring and I went last year to watch the MotoGP race. So I know more or less the track layout, although of course I can't really remember how it is to ride. So it will be like a new track for me and I am looking forward to it because the track seems to really suit the Ducati. I hope we can build on all the good work we did at Brno last weekend and have another strong Grand Prix."

Zarco and Folger Fully Charged and Confident of Strong Results at Austrian GP

The Monster Yamaha Tech3 duo will resolutely continue their busy schedules by heading straight to the Austrian Grand Prix fresh from the one day test at Brno which followed the Czech round.

Johann Zarco optimistically eyes up the forthcoming event as he fully intends to fight relentlessly for a top tier finish, following the positive and confidence boosting test yesterday. Whereas Jonas Folger aims to extend the impressive run in his rookie season, by challenging for the Top Independent honours on race day in the Austrian hills. The action will commence at the spectacular circuit on the 11th of August at 09:55.

Johann Zarco

Championship: 6th - Points: 88

"I am happy to go to Austria and I can remember from last year in Moto2, that the track is one that I enjoy riding at a lot, and I was fast. I am excited to see what the situation will be like on my MotoGP bike but I hope that the weather will be good and I also hope that the track has the same grip level that it had last season. I think it's possible to clinch a positive result because if we can work well with the kind of acceleration that is needed at that circuit, which is very important, then I think that I can finish the race solidly. I aim to score a good amount of points in Austria after the tricky Sunday in the Czech Republic, and I am looking forward to getting on my Yamaha in only a few days time."

Jonas Folger

Championship: 7th - Points: 77

"I am excited about the Austrian round because it's not far from my house and it's like the second home GP for me. In addition, I definitely enjoy riding at this track. I remember from last year in Moto2, there was a lot of grip so the tyres worked really well. I am very curious to see how the grip will be on the Michelin tyres and with my Yamaha MotoGP bike. It's a nice place to race and in the last two Grand Prix's, we have shown great potential and speed so it's another chance to do the best that we can. I'm confident of another good finish and we are ready for Spielberg."

Monster Yamaha Tech3 - Team Manager

"We can't wait to get to Spielberg and start FP1 on Friday, especially after the disappointment that we had at the Czech Grand Prix so it will be good to turn the page. The Austrian round will be interesting because our two riders were very fast in Moto2 last year. Johann won in an incredible way, and it was maybe one of the best races of his career as he dominated the field in the second half of the sprint, which rarely happens in that class. Jonas also enjoys riding at the track and he was fast and impressive there too. As a result, we are excited to see how they feel on a MotoGP bike. Last season, this round was voted the best Grand Prix of the year so it goes without saying that the whole paddock is happy to heading back there. The circuit is set in a beautiful location, the crowd was big and it will be super to go there again with two young and hungry riders. At the Czech GP, even though the result was not what we were expecting, both riders were competitive and showed that they can fight for top five finishes, if not the podium. We will put the past behind us and do our absolute best to complete these back to back races in a positive way."

Barbera and Baz head to Austria aiming at a strong result

The MotoGP World Championship heads to the red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend. Reale Avintia Racing riders Hector Barbera and Loris Baz arrive at the track of Spielberg keen to overcome last weekend’s difficult race at Brno with a strong result. The Austrian circuit suits the characteristics of the Ducati to perfection, as it’s layout it is a sequence of long straights linked by fast and short turns, where the Desmosedicis can show their full potential.

Barbera has a pending debt with the Austrian track. Twelve months ago, he had one of his best weekends in MotoGP. But on race day, he jumped the start, didn’t complete the “Ride Through” penalty imposed by Race Direction, and was disqualified whilst running seventh in the leading group. This time he is determined not to fail and to take advantage of the powerful engine of his Desmosedici GP16.

His Reale Avintia Racing teammate, Loris Baz, has good memories of Austria, because despite starting the race from the last position of the grid, the Frenchman made a good comeback that took him to 13th place. This year he hopes to qualify better and his goal on Sunday will be to finish in the ‘Top 10’.

Hector Barbera

“We come to a circuit that I really like and on which we went very well last year. It was probably the best race weekend since I’m in MotoGP. During the first few laps we were with the front runners and although I was disqualified in the end because of a jump start, my feelings were very good throughout the weekend. It is obvious that the Ducati works very well in Austria. The team is pushing more than ever and I’m physically well after having trained hard during the break, so this time we have to seize the opportunity to leave the bad streak of this season behind.”

Loris Baz

“To be honest, the track is not one of my favourites, but it’s true that its layout is very good for the Ducati. There are only few long corners and that should be good for us, because the bike does not turn very well and in this kind of corners where you go at big lean angles for a long time, we suffer more chatter. I hope to work well from Friday to be able to get in Q2 again and to have a good weekend to make up for the race of Brno. Last week we missed an opportunity to do well, but in Austria I hope everything works from Friday and we can fight to be in the top ten on Sunday.”


PRESS RELEASE: 10 August 2017 | Austria GP Preview

LCR Honda rider Cal Crutchlow is hoping to build on some encouraging signs in the Czech Republic when round 11 of the MotoGP World Championship gets underway in Austria on Friday. Despite an unfortunate fall in free practice which necessitated a trip to hospital for a back scan, Crutchlow rode through the pain barrier to secure a creditable fifth-placed finish in Brno last weekend.

Despite his injuries, the Briton then gritted his teeth and managed to complete nearly 50 laps during a test session at the Automotodrom Brno on Monday. Despite not having any new parts, Crutchlow achieved some impressive results and had posted the second fastest time of any rider when he brought his stint to an end in the early afternoon.

With acceleration and grip so crucial at Spielberg, the LCR rider is aware he will have to work hard with his crew at the Austrian soil but he is confident that recent improvements will make him more competitive following his 15th place finish 12 months ago.

Cal Crutchlow

"We tested our normal setup in Brno, there were no new parts, but we tried some different settings with the bike that seemed to work well. I re-tested the wings again for the fairing with here in mind as there’s a lot of acceleration and a lot of time to be gained on acceleration, so we’ll see how it goes.

“I didn’t feel great at the test on Monday to be honest after the crash in FP3 in Brno. I stopped early, but we still got in 50 laps and found some things that we liked. We’re hoping to be better than last year, but we want to improve the whole package. It seemed we struggled here with the set up last year, Marc (Marquez) and Dani (Pedrosa) had a challenging weekend as well but hopefully we can close that gap. It will be a positive weekend if we can score some good points.

“It promises to be an interesting weekend because tomorrow is supposed to be wet again, Saturday might be our only dry sessions and then it’s the race, so we’ll see how things turn out.”


Michelin has made the short trek across the mountainous region of Austria to arrive at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg for the NeroGiardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich and the 11th round of the 2017 MotoGP™ World Championship.

Following last weekend’s race at Brno and then a one-day test at the same circuit on Monday, the turnaround for the next race is very short and the back-to-back races always add an extra degree of complexity to the racing schedule. The Red Bull Ring makes its second appearance on the calendar after an 18-year absence from motorcycle Grand Prix racing. The unusual layout of the track with its two distinct left-hand corners and a fast left curve, allied to seven right-handers, over 4,318m of abrasive asphalt makes this a very demanding track for tyres, especially the right shoulder, so Michelin will have a range of rubber to cope with those demands.

Michelin had an excellent debut at Spielberg last year and will use the information from that event to provide tyres ideally suited to the configuration. The selection of MICHELIN Power Slicks will include three front tyres, all a symmetrical design, which will be available in soft, medium and hard compounds, all designed to give the riders the best options for optimum performance. The rear choices will be asymmetric in design, also in soft, medium and hard compounds, with the harder right-hand shoulder on all versions to cope with the greater number of corners which that side of the tyre must contend with. Due to its position in the mountainous Styria area of Austria, wet weather could be an issue during the race weekend, so to cope with any precipitation the MICHELIN Power Rain tyres in soft and medium compounds for the front and rear will be available, with both rears featuring an asymmetrical design with a harder right-hand-side.

The Red Bull ring was originally constructed in 1969 and was then known as the Österreichring. The circuit made a spectacular return to MotoGP in 2016 when over 200,000 people packed the grandstands and mountainsides around the track during the weekend for some stunning racing set against breath-taking scenery. This package combined with the circuit’s impressive infrastructure and advanced facilities, led to the event being awarded Grand Prix of the Year for 2016 from the Grand Prix Commission, a title that it will no doubt try to retain this year.

Michelin and the rest of the MotoGP field will head out for the first Free Practice session on Friday 11th August, followed by another session in the afternoon. With two more Free Practice sessions on the following day, Saturday will also see the Qualifying take place in the afternoon to decide grid positions for subsequent day’s 28-lap race, which is scheduled to get underway at 14.00hrs local time (13.00hrs BST, 12.00hrsGMT/UST) on Sunday 13th August.

“This is a very busy time for us, after the race in Brno we had a one-day test and then it is straight to Austria for the next event. We had a very positive weekend at the Red Bull Ring last year, our tyres worked in some extremes of temperatures, it was cold on the first day and for the race the track was almost 50°C and the tyres performed really well. The durability was especially pleasing as the lap-record was set as the race drew to a close. It is a very unique track design with only two real left-hand corners, but we brought tyres last year that matched the layout and we will have the rubber this year to cope with the interesting design. The whole event last year was very impressive and I’m sure this will be the same and we will be making sure our tyres make the race as entertaining and exciting as possible.”

Austrian GP (Red Bull Ring): Full throttle

Did you know that…?

- This weekend the twenty-sixth Austrian GP in its history will be held and the fourth raced at the Red Bull Ring, formerly known as the A-1 Ring. The other 22 editions of the Austrian race took place on the fast but dangerous Salzburgring track.

- Last year the Ducatis dominated the Austrian GP, finishing first and second, breaking a victory drought that had lasted since 2010. Since then, Ducati riders have won another three races.

- The 2016 victory of Andrea Iannone came after a last-minute decision to change the tyre on the grid, which gave him a decisive advantage over Andrea Dovizioso.

- Apart from the victory, last year Ducati clinched pole position, fastest lap and race top speed of 310 km/h.

- The highest top speed of the weekend was obtained by Michele Pirro and his Desmosedici with 312.8 km/h in FP4.

- Last year Jorge Lorenzo was the only rider capable of following the Ducatis, crossing the finish line behind Iannone and Dovizioso.

- Red Bull Ring, aka Spielberg, has three 6th gear straights (795, 930 and 766 metres long), making the Austrian circuit the fastest of the whole calendar. Last year’s average speed was 182.401 km/h.

- From the beginning of the start/finish line, the lowest part of the circuit, to turn #3 there is an elevation change of 65 m.

- Alongside Barcelona, Motegi and Sepang, Red Bull Ring is the most demanding circuit for brakes; they are used for 25% on every lap.

- Turn 1 is the strongest braking point. Bikes brake from an initial speed of 312 km/h to 90 km/h, needing 216 meters.

- Red Bull Ring is the circuit with the fewest turns in the whole calendar; just 10.

- Out of all the circuits on the calendar, the Circuit of the Americas shares the most similarities with Red Bull Ring due its long straights, heavy braking on turn 3 followed by a strong acceleration and the big elevation change between the lowest and the highest part of the circuit.
