2009 Le Mans 125cc Race Result - Race Of Attrition In The Rain

By Kropotkin | Sun, 17/05/2009 - 10:02

Results of the 125cc Race at Le Mans:

Julian Simon won an incident-rich and rain-sodden 125cc race at Le Mans, after being handed the lead by Nicolas Terol crashing on lap 4. Terol was not the only rider to crash, over half the field not finishing. Terol crashed out twice, and still finished in 9th.

Simon rode a perfect race, and had it wrapped up very quickly, just staying calm and riding fast. In 2nd place was the 15-year-old sensation Jonas Folger, the German having fought his way through the field from 16th on the grid. Bradley Smith looked like taking 3rd place, but Sergio Gadea caught him with three laps to go. Championship leader Andrea Iannone was another rider who crashed early, having started from a long way down the grid, then got back on to finish in an outstanding 7th place.
