2009 World Supersport Misano Race Overall Results - Duel To The Line

Final result of the two-part World Supersport race at Misano:

Cal Crutchlow won the World Supersport race at Misano, both on the track and on the timesheets. The young Briton beat Eugene Laverty, overtaking the Irishman with just a couple of laps left, after the two men had led from the first two positions after the restart. Laverty had carried a lead of 0.036 from the first heat, which was red-flagged after Kenan Sofuoglu crashed going into Turn 1 and his bike slid across the track depositing fluids through the tricky chicane section. Laverty looked like catching Crutchlow, and following him across the line closely enough to take the win without passing, until he slid the rear tire of his Parkalgar Honda coming out of the final corner, giving Crutchlow enough of a gap to take victory. Massimo Roccoli took the final spot on the podium.
