Results of the World Superbikes Superpole, updated as they happen:
Superpole 1
Leon Haslam topped the first Superpole session, after just edging Johnny Rea by one thousandth of a second, the narrowest of margins. Troy Corser finished in 3rd, ahead of Jakub Smrz and the two Sterilgarda Yamahas. Chris Vermeulen suffered a nasty-looking crash down in the South Loop, tumbling through the gravel with his leg trapped under his bike. His condition is not yet known.
Out after Superpole 1: Luca Scassa, Lorenzo Lanzi, Chris Vermeulen, Broc Parkes.

Superpole 2
Johnny Rea returned to the top of the timesheets in Superpole 2, just edging fellow Briton Leon Haslam and Australian Troy Corser. The Superpole system once again caught out a number of big names, Noriyuki Haga being the most prominent casualty, while the two Sterilgarda Yamahas found themselves bumped out of Superpole 3 by flying laps from Carlos Checa and Shane Byrne at the last minute. For James Toseland, it was not for want of trying, the Englishman running wide at the terrifyingly fast Ramshoek corner, but managing to stay upright.
Out after Superpole 2: Cal Crutchlow, James Toseland, Max Biaggi, Ruben Xaus, Sylvain Guintoli, Tom Sykes, Noriyuki Haga, Max Neukirchner,

Superpole 3
Johnny Rea will start tomorrow's two World Superbike races from pole, after setting a blistering lap of 1'34.944, over 2.6 seconds faster than the superpole lap set by Ben Spies last year, though much of that is down to the new, much faster layout of the Ruskenhoek corner. Leon Haslam had led the timesheets early, but the Alstare Suzuki rider was bumped down the grid, first by Rea, then by Pata S&G's Jakub Smrz, and again by BMW's Troy Corser. Haslam held onto a place on the front row, though, a big advantage over his main rival for the title Max Biaggi, and a couple of places ahead of Carlos Checa. The man so hotly tipped for the title before the season started, Noriyuki Haga, will start all the way down in 15th. The problems for Xerox Ducati continue, it appears.

JT needs to drop some of the concerts and focus.
That ought to give him .034 on his lap times.
Christ the Piano is such a tired old line
Yeah he plays the thing 24/7. Poor fella doesn't know if he's changing gear or changing key. What a lot of B/S. JT is a professional motorcycle racer and works damn hard at it.
Supply and Demand
There is no shortage of tired old lines and grudges in the comment section.
I try to keep it clean
I do try to keep the comment section relatively clean and intelligent, and to the great credit of my readers, the comments are generally of an exceptionally high level. However, there are one or two posters who are just a fraction ahead of me, and fatuous comments end up on the site before I can stop them. I'm hoping the really smart part of the readers can overlook the occasional pointless comment I don't get to in time.
A sign of success
Take it as just part of making something worth reading. As the good word spreads, the hoi polloi will follow.
On average it is pretty good. Sadly, relatively speaking, the world of motorsports doesn't set the bar high.
WSBK?
Isn't Roger racing this series? where'd he go?
From what I read Matteo
From what I read Matteo Baiocco and Roger Lee Hayden did not make it to Superpole and qualified 21st and 22. They'll both be on the grid just at the very back of it.
Editorial Oversight aka Stupidity
Forgot to add in the results from QP2, so Roger Lee Hayden and Matteo Baiocco were both missing from the grid lineup. Fixed that now. Thanks for point it out!
