Rider improvements from day 1 to day 2
One of the more interesting comparisons to make is in terms of who improved most during the test. Though the Repsol Honda riders did well, improving their times by over a third of a second, it was the Yamahas that made the biggest step forward of the factory bikes, Ben Spies picking up nearly nine-tenths of a second, Cal Crutchlow going over 1.1 seconds faster on Wednesday than he had done on Tuesday. Most of the Ducatis were firmly in the middle, gaining about half a second over the previous day.
Biggest improvement of the test came from Carmelo Morales on the BMW Suter run by Laglisse. Morales picked up over three seconds between the first and the second day, down in part to his getting a better handle on the Bridgestone tires.
Improvements:

Seeing this many riders names...
Feels so much better knowing that at least 2 factory riders weren't even present.
What was Tech3 testing?
Anyone know how the Tech 3 bikes compare to Spies' bike? (the specs, not the times)
I believe they were the same
I believe they were the same spec. If I'm not mistaken Spies was testing chassis settings in order to direct future development. I assume that the main goal of Tech 3 was to establish a baseline in the data.
Spies said they were not
Spies said they were not close to the limit of the bike, they are more focused on collecting data, not sure what Tech3 had planned, to me that says Spies has another half second somewhere to use.
