Results and summary of qualifying for the Moto3 class at Barcelona:
Maverick Vinales has taken his second pole position in a row, after dominating QP at Catalunya. The Spaniard took the lead from Zulfahmi Khairuddin in the second half of qualifying and set a pace no one else could follow, putting him on pole for the second time, after his first pole of the year at Le Mans two weeks ago. Khairuddin ended qualifying in 2nd, a quarter of a second behind Vinales, and just ahead of Louis Rossi, the Frenchman invigorated after his win at Le Mans last week.
Championship contender Sandro Cortese heads up the 2nd row, the German finishing in 4th despite a nasty crash during this morning's free practice, a crash that luckily left him unhurt. Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira sits in 5th, despite a crash at the end of the session, while Luis Salom found a late burst of speed to put the Spaniard into 6th.
