Cal Crutchlow pounced at the end of FP3 with a 1'56.156 lap, a full two-tenths faster than second-place Jorge Lorenzo who led most of the session. Marc Marquez, who led practice briefly, finished third, a tenth of a second ahead of Valentino Rossi. Repsol's Dan Pedrosa rounded out the top five, finishing a nearly half a second down on Crutchlow. The top 10 riders in FP3 move on to the final qualifying session (Q2) with riders at 11 (Andrea Iannone) though 25 (Lukas Pesek) taking place in an earlier qualifying session. The fastest two riders from Q1 will then join the top 10 riders for Q2.
So what can be learned from FP3? First, Crutchlow seems happy with the setup of his Tech 3 Yamaha and can put in a fast lap when needed. But a closer look at the timesheets shows two riders -- Lorenzo and Marquez - capable of putting in a long series of laps in the middle 1'56s with Rossi and Pedrosa not far off that race pace. In all, the top seven riders remain within a second of each other. The race forecast calls for possible rain.

That's wow!
But won't convinced until the second half of the race laps.

I always look at the lap by lap analysis on MotoGP.com. Lorenzo did 15 laps under 1:57, Marquez did 10, Cal did 3. Cal needs to consistently put in those fast laps, not just a few, if he wants to win a race this year.
Maybe he doesn't want to run out of fast laps?
Well he does put consistent fast laps in, it's just that he does them in the race, rather than in FP :)
