2013 Aragon Moto3 Race Result: Classic Head-To-Head Battle

Alex Rins has taken an extremely canny victory at the Moto3 grand prix in Aragon. The youngster outsmarted his compatriot Maverick Vinales over the final two laps of the race and took a well deserved win in front of his home fans. The result moves him into second place in the championship standings and closes the points deficit to leader Luis Salom to a meager nine points, with Maverick Vinales a further three points behind.

Alex Marquez finished the race in a lonely third place, some twelve seconds behind the leaders. Luis Salom had a disappointing, damage limiting race and had to settle for fourth place after a fierce scrap with Miguel Oliveira, who finished fifth. Philipp Oettl had his career best race to cross the line in a fantastic sixth ahead of his brave countryman Jonas Folger who rode with a badly damaged left leg after his crash in Misano.

Romano Fenati, Arthur Sissis and Efren Vazquez completed the top ten at the head of an exciting group of riders that spanned from eighth to fourteenth.
