Efren Vazquez won his first-ever Grand Prix Sunday when he jumped from Romano Fenati's slipstream down the front straight and passed him at the line at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fenati held on for second and points-leader Jack Miller ended his race in third.
Vazquez maiden win put pushed him into second in the 2014 champioship. However, Miller's third place extended his overall championship lead to 21 points.
Alex Masbou took fourth in the tighly bunched finishing pack and Alex Rins managed fourth after a slight mistake by Alex Marquez (5th) in the final lap. Miguel Olivera -- who didn't finish the prior race in Germany -- took seventh, just in front of Juanfran Guevara. Brad Binder and Jakub Kornfeil rounded out the top 10. John McPhee, who showed promising speed during practice, crashed out on the first lap.
Vazquez win comes after a strong showing all weekend. He led the final free practice and morning warm-up.

Masbou had the ride of his life
He was last during the first lap due to a contact between riders directly in front of him, then after 7 laps he had got by about 20 riders to get 13th position to finally take the lead of the race after 10 further laps!
He was the fastest rider on track for 7 laps, including while overtaking bunch of riders and for the final lap of the race.
Gutted he finished "only" 4th, 3 tenths from the win but WHAT A RIDE!
He's a veteran now at 27, only got 2 podiums in 133 starts, had to ride absolute dogs (anyone remember the Malaguti or the chinese Loncin?) but never gave up, ended 8th in the championship barely 16 points behind Miller on the exact same underpowered FTR-Honda last year though still is quite underrated.
