2015 Aragon World Supersport Race Results: Unkind DNFs

Sixteen laps of Motorland Aragon without weather interrupting proceedings.

Jules Cluzel led Kenan Sofuoglu, PJ Jacobsen and Kyle Smith into the first turn, with Lucas Mahias taking fourth place from Smith before the lap was done and Film Wilairot taking fifth from him the next lap. Jacobsen pushed past Sofuoglu one lap and Cluzel the next, leading his first World Supersport race ahead of Sofuoglu and Cluzel, a fight that took place behind Jacobsen for two laps until Cluzel was able to take the lead from the American.

Marco Faccani and Film Wilairot had a coming together that ended their races, with title leader Wilairot heading to the medical centre afterwards.

Cluzel and Sofuoglu traded the lead for a few laps, unable to drop Jacobsen behind them, until Jules Cluzel's MV Agusta let him down, just like it did in Buriram, and he parked his bike up, dropped to his knees and just started pounding the astroturf over and over with his fists. A win and two mechanical DNFs for the Frenchman isn't an ideal start to his season.

Sofuoglu had a decent gap from Jacobsen who in turn had a safe distance from Kyle Smith and the trio would cruise to the podium unchallenged, while behind them, Lorenzo Zanetti struggled to find a way past the struggling Gino Rea, unable to pass until the last corner of the last lap, and even then, Rea out-dragged him to fourth place at the flag for a demoralising fifth place for Zanetti.

Kenan Sofuoglu won his first race since Aragon last year and now leads the championship battle, ahead of PJ Jacobsen. Both of the previous race winners from this year scored no points.
