2015 Mugello Moto2 QP Result: A Second First

Results Below:

Sam Lowes made up for a early qualifying session crash to set a record-breaking 1’51.214 pole position Saturday at the Mugello Circuit in Italy.  Lowes, the race winner in Austin, leads the field by three-tenths of a second.

Dominique Aegerter claimed second, just in front of the current World Champion Tito Rabat (3rd) to complete the front row. Rabat had set the previous fastest-ever lap earlier in the day.

Thomas Luthi -- winner at the previous race at Le Mans -- leads the second row with Luis Salom (5th) Johann Zarco (6th) rounding out the row. Zarco is the current championship points leader. Simone Corsi heads up the third row, closely followed by Xavier Simeon and rookie Alex Rins.  Axel Pons completed the top ten.

As has become common in Moto2, the top 14 riders are separated by less than a second.

The Kalex/Honda 600cc 4 cylinder 4 stroke class.
The blokes donning the leathers and riding their boots off the things deserve the credit race in and race out.
However, this class was flawed with its inception. Obviously it would become a chassis war. Kalex have won over Moriwaki and Suter.
This class needs to be trashed ASAP and replaced with OPEN for EVERYONE 500cc twins.
I guess HRC won't like that proposition either, but who cares, its not like they cannot build a 500 twin.
I took their 500 CBR twin around the block and its a fine bike.
As ever it will have to evolve into an L twin to be competitive. Hell, its not like Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda have never explored L twins.
All they have to do is talk to the blokes at NCR.
Where is the GPC re M2? I guess Sepp could explain. Heh Heh!

It's tough being an Ant West fan. I think his glorious racing future is a bit like mine, fuzzy with a possibility of showers and increasing abbreviation. Prone to summary. Like frogs, not gone yet but diminishing.
