2015 Portimão World Supersport FP1 Results: Cluzel And Zanetti Quickest

The MV Agustas of Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti topped the timing, with Kenan Sofuoglu within striking distance. Over a second off the quickest time, Kyle Smith and PJ Jacobsen rounded out the top five, with Jacobsen leaving the Intermoto Kawasaki team to ride the CORE Honda, replacing the sacked Film Wilairot. Following the mysterious disappearance of Josef Kubicek, the boss of the Intermoto squad, Lucas Mahias and Aiden Wagner, Jacobsen's former team mates, have been left without a ride for this weekend.

Wilairot has been sacked?? I have missed that completely. Why? Just a few races ago he was leading the championship..!
And then that mysterious disappearance of a team boss, what's going on?
Anyway, good to see the two MV Agustas making a good start of the weekend. Would be great if they can both get ahead of Sofuoglu. I can already see the steam coming out of his ears.

The only articles I can find are on SpeedWeek. If you don't speak German then Google does a terrible job of translation but it's usually possible to work out the meaning. Just be aware it often says the opposite of what the author meant.

Thanks for the links. German is no problem whatsoever, fortunately. Strange story for sure! Suspected suicide of Josef Kubicek, or he has fled abroad, or he has become victim of a crime... talking about drama!

I think Core Thailand Team races Honda's, so PJ must not be on the ZX6 as the leaderboard claims he is. Sad state of affairs and a pretty short grid.

Yes, it's a Honda, but the official results have him on a Kawasaki, even though he's not. That's why I made a point of mentioning the bike in the report. The next results will have corrected this anomaly.
