2016 Imola World Superbike FP1 Results: Davies Opens Weekend

Chaz Davies sets the fastest time in the incident-filled first session, with Leon Camier and Lorenzo Savadori in second and third, ensuring the top three places are filled by all three Italian manufacturers. Thirteen laps by eight riders were deleted due to cutting the chicane, the session was red-flagged over spilled oil, giving riders a 25 minute break, and Dominic Schmitter was black-flagged.

Camier on the MV second and Savadori on the Aprilia third, now that's two riders that seem to be on the right track lately! It would be brilliant if they can keep this up. MV and Camier certainly deserve some reward for their brave efforts. And those wonderful RSV4's belong to be at the front again, I miss them there! Such a shame they decided on participating so late, they've started on the back foot.

OK, only FP1, I know, but it's nice to start off like this. Looking forward to the races, Imola often provides spectacular action.
