Superpole one had thirteen riders competing for two places. Federico Caricasulo and Michael Canducci were eleventh and twelfth fastest, making them favourites to qualify for Superpole two.
After a lap, Niki Tuuli was on top, posting a 1’38.676 ahead of Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Aiden Wagner. Kazuki Watanabe stayed out, deciding on a one tyre strategy unlike everyone else. Wagner crashed out in his second session, leaving his third best time as a beatable target for the ten riders slower than him at that point.
Federico Caricasulo beat the flag, putting in a 1’38.389 just before the flag came out, with Niki Tuuli only seventy nine thousandths off his pace catching the flag and unable to challenge. Caricasulo improved once again only with Zulfahmi Khairuddin just three hundredths behind his 1’38.324, knocking Tuuli out of promotion. Championship leader Robbie Rolfo will start second the race last.
In Superpole two, PJ Jacobsen set the first fast lap but seconds later, Decha Kraisart went quickest dragging his teammate Chalermpol Polamai through behind him. A lap later, it was Polamai’s turn to get the faster lap as the local Thai riders both improved their times.
Gino Rea suffered a visor malfunction as he headed out for the second half of the session and was helped by the ever-present marshals, but he required a replacement as the marshals couldn’t get his number one helmet started. Jules Cluzel met Chalermpol Polamai and lost time getting past him but still went quickest with Lucas Mahias third quickest knocking Decha Kraisart off the front row. Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Kyle Smith completed the second row.

Robbie Rolfo will start the race second last
Awesome, Jules Cluzel is so good, a ray of sunshine for Honda. Congratulations to all the local riders. particularly Polamai.
Who do I think will be on the SBK podium, that I might try. Who do I think wil be on the Supersport podium not game to have a guess. Any of the front row, any of the first ten, or first sixteen, 1st twenty
Best of luck to all the supersport people.
Robbie Rolfo will start the race second last, 22nd on the grid, Roberto could win it.
Luke Stapleford
So what exactly happened to Luke Stapleford? I read that he and Stefan Hill have been 'withdrawn for technical reasons'; does that mean they had engine failures on the Triumphs or was it something with the regulations?
Parts
It means they didn't have the parts available to fix their bikes. It's a problem with fly-away rounds.
