2019 Argentina Moto3 Race Result: A Trio of Firsts

What a weekend for Spanish teenager Jaume Masia; The KTM rider matched his first-ever pole position with his first race win Sunday at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in Argentina. Masia made last final-corner sweep to the front and held on in a contest that saw contant, and frenetic lead changes.

Masia's pole and win were not the only firsts in Sunday's Moto3 race. Darryn Binder took second for his best-ever Moto3 finish and Tony Arbolino -- frequently so close to the front of the pack -- claimed his first podium with a third-place finish.  It was the first time that a Moto3 rider has won from pole at the South American track.

Niccolo Antonelli (4th), who led the race at points, held on for fourth as the top-nine finishers were separated by less that a second. Ayuma Sasaki had his best-ever finish in fifth just ahead of local favorite Gabriel Rodrigo. The Argentine led the race on the final lap only to be swallowed up by the pack and nearly crash, ended his race in sixth. Lorenzo Dalla Porta who see-sawed in and out of the top three, ended his day in seventh, just ahead of Dennis Foggia who led the race early on. Marcos Ramierez (9th) ended the contest and the rear of the lead group.

Kaito Toba, race winner in Qatar, climbed back from a miserable race start to end his day in 10, good enough to retain the championship points lead head into the Austin Texas race in two weeks.
