2019 Assen World Superbike Race One Result: Race Abandoned Due To Snow

World Superbike race one was postponed due to the snow and rain making it impossible to run a safe race. After a delay, the riders set up on the grid, half an hour late, only for the snow to come back in force, sending everyone back to their garages. As the time passed and the weather didn't improve, Michael van der Mark eventually came out and explained to the crowds in the grandstands that there would be no racing on Saturday.

With a race postponement, Sunday will have a new schedule, but with three races per weekend, it isn't yet known what's going to happen.

Well, it looks like we are going to have a proper classic Superbike Sunday tomorrow, with two full races. That is by far the best and most logical solution.

Maybe not such a bad idea for the near future to do the sprint race on Saturday instead of the now vague concept of Superpole, and use FP times just for the start grid of that sprint/qualifying race.

^ That is a GREAT idea!

What a let down for Assen attendees. Weirder weather is becoming the norm. Pirelli - "We are bringing super softs, as well as studded snows."
