Aragon WorldSBK Test Thursday Times: Redding Fastest On Second Day

Scott Redding ended the Aragon WorldSBK test as fastest, after losing a lot of time over two days to rain. The Ducati got under the time set by Jonathan Rea on Wednesday, though Rea decided against riding on Thursday.

Chaz Davies finished Thursday as second, a quarter of a second behind his teammate, and half a second ahead of Alex Lowes on the Kawasaki. Toprak Razgatlioglu was the fastest Yamaha rider, four tenths faster than teammate Michael van der Mark, while American Garrett Gerloff was sixth, a fraction behind Van der Mark.

There were a handful of crashes at the test, including Gerloff and Van der Mark, the Dutchman destroying a 3D printed prototype fairing in the crash. Leon Camier came off a lot worse, having a massive highside at Turn 9, coming down hard on the shoulder which had caused him so many problems this season.

The teams now pack up and head down to Jerez, for the next test in two weeks' time.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Gerloff can do in WSBK.  Wonder if this is his first time running on Pirelli's?  1.2s off the blazing time of Redding doesn't seem too bad at all to me, all things considered (assume it's his first time at Aragon as well).

Yes, his first time on Pirellis, first time on this track too, and he was less than a 10th off Van der marc.  Really hope he has a good season on the Junior team.

Hate to sound like another Stars and Stripes waving American, but I'm impressed with Gerloff's times on both days. New tires, new track, not bad. Except for Caricasulo, who is presumably still feeling out the litre bike, all the Yamaha riders are very close.
