Testing is back underway at Jerez. After a delayed start with a cold track, action got underway shortly before 11am, Aleix Espargaro the first rider to venture out on the track, followed shortly after by Brad Binder.
At noon, it was Maverck Viñales leading the way, half a second faster than Fabio Quartararo, making it a Yamaha 1-2. Joan Mir was third quickest, while Marc Marquez is fourth. Brother Alex is working out of the Repsol Honda garage at this test, though he is riding a bike in HRC colors, because he is technically still under contract with the Marc VDS team until the end of the year.
There are a few absentees. Karel Abraham, of course, who is being replaced temporarily by Eric Granado, and Pecco Bagnaia is still recovering from his crash during the Valencia weekend. Miguel Oliveira and Takaaki Nakagami are still absent recovering from injury.
