Tom Luthi has ended the Jerez Moto2 test as fastest, smashing the existing pole record by over eight tenths of a second in the process. The Intact GP rider was fast over a flying lap on Friday, after spending Thursday focusing on used tires, and posting an impressive race pace.
Gresini's Nicolo Bulega ended the day in second place, though he finished third overall on the combined standings, behind Marco Bezzecchi, who put in a very quick lap on Thursday. Tetsuta Nagashima was third fastest on Friday on the Red Bull Ajo Kalex, finishing ahead of Xavi Vierge on the Petronas Kalex. Jorge Navarro was the fastest of the Speed Up riders on the last day of the test. Rookie Aron Canet finished seventh on Friday, but ends the test a very impressive fifth overall, and fastest Speed Up rider.

Lookin' spicy. So much talent.
I hope Luthi makes a real run at it this year...sort of like every year :) . i really like that he came back strong last year after such a crap shoot in GP with the whole VDS sitution.

Setting the 'Luthi Line' high this year. That's good, give the youngsters a fast target. Moto2 2020 is going to be great: any of the top 18 above (and some of the others - wherefore art thou nearly 2 seconds back LDP?) are capable of winning a race.

"Petronas rider Jake Dixon suffered a heavy crash, breaking a finger in his right hand, and was forced to fly home for medical treatment."
