Czech rider Filip Salac played it smart on the second day of the Moto3 test at Qatar, spending the day riding mostly alone, before finding a good group to set his fastest time. The Rivacold Snipers rider opened up a gap of nearly six tenths of a second over the rider in second place, Leopard Racing's Dennis Foggia.
Foggia was a fraction of a second quicker than Friday's fastest man Gabriel Rodrigo, who found himself in a Leopard Racing sandwich, behind Foggia and ahead of Foggia's teammate Jaume Masia. Tatsuki Suzuki was fifth fastest on the SIC58 Honda, while the first KTM was the Aspar Team's Albert Arenas, who was eight tenths slower than Salac.
The final Moto3 test of the preseason finishes on Sunday, a week before the race is due to be held.
