2021 Barcelona MotoGP FP4 Result: Quartararo Like Clockwork

There was lots of hard rubber in action for the final practice session in Barcelona but no one used it better than Fabio Quartararo, who ended practice four tenths ahead of his rivals and looking strong on both the hard and medium rear tyres. Maverick Viñales had to settle for second and although he had a strong session of his own, it was not quite as excellent as his teammate’s. Miguel Oliveira was another familiar sight inside the top 3 and was the last rider within half a second of the leader. Johann Zarco was the lead Ducati man in fourth position ahead of the pretty consistent Suzuki of Joan Mir.

Marc Marquez climbed into sixth spot courtesy of a tow from good pal Maverick Vinales and was closely followed by old pal Valentino Rossi. Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller and Takaaki Nakagami completed the top 10, while Pecco Bagnaia in 11th position was the last rider posting a time within a second of Quartararo. Franco Morbidelli in 13th place was likely not in a representative position for the speed and consistency shown in throughout the weekend.
