The final qualifying session of the day started and ended on a high, with a bit of a lull setting in after Sam Lowes posted the only 1:51 time of qualifying on only his third lap. That looked like it was enough to secure Moto2 pole position, as rivals seemed to struggle to get quicker as the session progressed, but the Marc VDS man still had a brief look of concern on his face while he watched the Red Bull KTM Ajo boys on their final flying laps. Remy Gardner was down in 14th position with one minute left on the clock, but a pretty wild final lap promoted him all the way up to second on the grid, two tenths off pole. Teammate Raul Fernandez had been lingering at the bottom of the top 10, until he found some time in the last two sectors to join the front row on his final flying lap, but his fitness will be a bit of a question mark given his recent hand injury.
The late show from the orange machines denied Hector Garzo a front row, dropping him to a still impressive fourth place on the grid, after topping Q1. Rookie Ai Ogura will be joining him on row two, ahead of Moto3 champion Albert Arenas. Jorge Navarro only briefly held top spot in Q2 before getting demoted to seventh place, sharing third row with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi.
Marcos Ramirez rounded out the top 10 ahead of Aron Canet and Augusto Fernandez, the Marc VDS rider seven tenths slower than his leading teammate. Xavi Vierge, Nicolò Bulega and Q1 qualifier Marcel Schrotter make up row five, ahead of veteran Tom Luthi, newbie Fermín Aldeguer and a low key Joe Roberts.

Well done to..
Arenas and Navarro on the Boscoscuros, infact there's 4 in the top 17, fair play. Also McPhee, certainly making progress time-wise and finally Sam, hoping for a similar performance tomorrow from 'onit'
