Premier class riders got a final opportunity to fine-tune their race setup after a rainy Friday and a time-chasing Saturday morning, although all the work might go to waste if the weather forecast for Sunday is as bad as expected. In the sunny FP4, Fabio Quartararo set the pace at the front, taking over top spot in the final handful of minutes and the Frenchman will be hoping for similar conditions on Sunday afternoon. A late charge from Alex Rins promoted him to second and dropped Pecco Bagnaia, the early leader of the session, down to third but only a tenth off top spot.
Johann Zarco added another Ducati to the mix, with Joan Mir making it a Suzuki double in the top 5 as well. Enea Bastianini continues to shine this time from 6th place and with solid pace, ahead of the Honda duo of Takaaki Nakagami and Marc Marquez – the Spaniard particularly keen on Mir’s Suzuki once more. Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller rounded out the top 10 positions. Wildcard Michele Pirro missed out but was only half a second off the lead, with Maverick Vinales another tenth back in 12th position and ahead of Jorge Martin and Pol Espargaro.
