2022 Sepang MotoGP Test Sunday Noon Times: Bastianini And Espargaro Under Track Record

With cool weather in the morning and the threat of rain this afternoon, riders were out chasing a fast time in the first hour of the test day. Aleix Espargaro shaved a tenth off Danilo Petrucci's record time from 2019, with Enea Bastianini taking another couple of hundredths off ten minutes later.

As temperatures rose, riders have buckled down to work on this important second day of the Sepang test. Once they finish here, they head off to Mandalika, and an unknown quantity in terms of bike development.

The Beastiannini has never been here on a big bike before. Impressed!

It is getting pretty Red up front. Sorry for broken record thought but it remains now...take Quartararo out and look at what the Blue picture is like here. His phrase today was "when there is no power, you adapt." "Basically the same bike" from last year. Ouch!

Someone said "2022 is a do or die year for Miller." I disagree. Last year was. SO much competition for that seat! Martin, Bastiannini, ...Quartararo? Miller, Zarco. Congrats Ducati, your rider struggle years are over.

The way the young blokes are being dragged through Miller could lose his seat by coming 2nd in the championship to Pecco.  Bloody hell!  Better just knuckle down and win 🤞👍🍻

On the runs, what there was, Fabio is a fair bit quicker than the Bagnaia, about 4 tenths per lap me thinks. Aleix half a second faster again....such as is it with test days.
