Mandalika MotoGP Test Friday 4pm Times: Work Begins Under Difficult Condtions

It has been a rough start for the MotoGP paddock at Mandalika. The day started with rain, and conditions have been difficult throughout, even when the track dried out. There has been no on track action since WorldSBK left in November, and track has acquired a thin layer of mud, causing the session to be red-flagged for a while for the surface to be cleaned.

The rain has come on and off, but at 4pm local time, with just under 2 hours of the day left, it is Maverick Viñales who is currently topping the time sheet, with a time a quarter of a second off Toprak Razgatlioglu's Superpole record for WorldSBK. Jorge Martin is second on the Pramac Ducati, while Pol Espargari is third on the Repsol Honda.

Times at 4pm. For reference, Toprak Razgatlioglu's WorldSBK Superpole lap record is 1'32.877:

David when you’re doing your round-up of the day would it be possible to identify those riders who you think may not have focused on a serious time attack? It would be nice to know if a rider is lower down the time sheet in given session due to other priorities or bike issues rather than just being off pace. For example is Frankie (or whoever) slow because he’s focusing on testing stuff, or does it appear that he or the bike isn’t getting it together.

Thanks for including the WSBK lap record as a reference.

Considering Toprak had decent track conditions and qualifying slicks. Remember the Rea hype with his times at motogp tracks on slicks. Topraks time will be be beaten soon you'd think.
