Colin is great guy - has been a great racer ! Not in dispute.
But recent performances suggest he should be back in WSBK.
Capirossi is moving for the last time, Melandri is out, Kallio is out.
We have to make way for new talent from Moto2 (otherwise what's the point) such as Elias.
So, if you race a good bike (sometimes the best bike) and after 150 races you don't ever win and hardly podium - why are you still here?
Motogp has never been a meritocracy but come on ! Time to go old timer.

"...after 150 races you don't ever win and hardly podium - why are you still here?"...

Because sponsors like to see their logos at the top of the results rather than at the end.

Unfortunately, MotoGP has too much manufacturer and sponsor influence over the promoters, sanctioning body and fans wishes. It is more difficult to change the rules to improve the "show" because the manufacturers are a key part of this series.

Edwards has earned the position he is in. He has never won, but you could say that about a lot of MotoGP riders, new and old.

looks like stoner is gonna get swamped by spies!! :0

so pleased for dovi & wow, the table looks so interesting! :)

gee, if lorenzo has an engine failure & dani keeps the fire up his a55 running, this could get interesting folks! :)

woot!

"Edwards has earned the position he is in. He has never won, but you could say that about a lot of MotoGP riders, new and old."

Who? Who has been on such good machinery in the last 10-20 years who has not won a race. Many riders have not won, but they have been on much lesser teams. Edwards has been on good bikes (championship winning bikes) or like this year, a bike that is just below the top teams.
We need riders from the USA, but Spies and Hayden are enough.
If a great personality with a nice smile is what you want, why don't we let Brad Pitt ride in the championship?
The likes of Doohan, Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa are not people I would want to spend time with but I want to see them RACE.
Sonsors would do well to replace slow personalities.
