trying to run it down to the final round again like last year? :)

Crazy, crazy race.

Great for Jorge, he looked pretty racy in the dry too. Aleix and Cal, good show for keeping a cool head.

Rossi has to finish more than three points ahead of Marquez to extend his championship hopes. Lorenzo has to finish more than 15 points ahead of Marquez to do likewise.

So Marquez has to finish just sixth or higher to knock Lorenzo out.
Marquez finishes seventh to twelfth, and Lorenzo would have to win the race.
Lorenzo could come in second place if Marquez finishes thirteenth to fifteenth.
Lorenzo could stay alive with a third place, but only if Marquez does not score points.
Fourth or lower for Lorenzo, and he's out.

If Marquez finishes fourth or higher, Rossi could keep hopes alive by finishing anywhere higher than fourth. If Marquez finishes fifth, Rossi would have to place at least two places higher.
Marquez finishes sixth or seventh, Rossi would have to place at least three positions higher.
Marquez eight to fifteenth, Rossi would have to place at least four positions higher.
Marquez finishes below fifteenth, Rossi would only have to place 12th or higher.

With Pedrosa, it's simple: He just has to finish ahead of Marquez. If they both fail to score points, Pedrosa's out. He'd have to score a single point with a Marquez DNF to keep his championship alive.

There were a lot of crazy things about this race but the craziest is that Marquez came out with an increased points lead over second place! The top three (in this race) definitely deserved their places: They hit the perfect balance between big balls and smart riding. As we saw, not an easy thing to do.

He had a pretty nasty looking crash but got away with it without serious injury and only lost two points to Dani. The big trophy is, barring severe misfortune, going back home with Márquez for another year but the scrap for second place is warming up nicely.

If I was a betting man, I think I'd be having a punt on Lorenzo for that one.
