Top class top three
Very impressive season from Alvaro, Toprak and Jonathan!
Massive turnaround for AB19 compared to 2019, much more consistent, two years on the 'blade made a difference.
2021 champion Toprak still riding like a champion! Yamaha needs more top speed, where have we heard that before? Come on Yamaha! They must do better in order to provide Remy Gardner with a more competitive bike. RG87 won't be as fast as Toprak Razgatlioglu at first.
Jonathan Rea still riding very well at 35. Not quiet as successful over the last two years but still very fast. Five wins in the first three rounds, none since Estoril. Plenty of podiums, 19 thirds & seconds since Misano. JR hasn't been off the podium since race 2 at Barcelona (4th). Only one dnf for Jonny all season and he is still 3rd 103 points behind AB19.
The rider makes the difference in SBK. Alvaro has more points than the next best two Ducatis together. MRR 273 & Bassani 219 = 492. That is 41 less than Bautista!
There are still 62 points available, some of the lower positions may change at Philip island. Wheel see.
